Strategic Workforce Advisory Groups

Industry voices shaping tomorrow's workforce

A Strategic Workforce Advisory Group (SWAG) is a dedicated group of experts brought together to provide advice, industry insights and guidance on workforce-related matters and project priorities for SaCSA.

The SWAGs promote open dialogue and cooperation between industry, unions and government. SaCSA has established five SWAGs to represent the Arts, Personal Services, Retail, Tourism and Hospitality sectors.

Key roles of our SWAG members:

Offer insights into vocational training and skills needs across SaCSA's sectors

Advise on career and educational pathways, opportunities and priorities

Share intelligence and collaborate on sector-wide challenges and solutions

Who is eligible to join a SWAG?

Members are appointed on merit, based on factors including:

  • Relevant knowledge, skills and experience in the industry relevant to the SWAG;
  • Networks and spheres of influence which will assist the work of the SWAG;
  • The geographic and other distributional factors that would make the SWAG representative of the industry at large; and
  • Capacity and capability to deliver on the SWAG purpose as outlined in the SWAG Terms of Reference.

More information on the SWAGs can be found in the SWAG Terms of Reference and the Selection and Assessment Process.
