Tourism

A vital part of Australia’s economy and cultural identity, from small regional tour operators to global travel networks.

About

Australia’s Tourism sector is a vital part of Australia’s economy and cultural identity, spanning everything from small regional tour operators to global travel agencies, cruise lines and large-scale transport networks. It includes many interlinked services, including tour guiding, visitor information, itinerary planning, travel booking, accommodation coordination, and destination promotion. Together, these activities create exceptional visitor experiences that support local communities, generate economic growth, and showcase Australia on the global stage.

The Tourism sector is undergoing significant change. Growing demand for personalized, high-quality experiences is reshaping service expectations, while digital platforms and online booking tools are transforming how tourism services are delivered. The rise of sustainable and eco-tourism is creating new skill requirements, particularly in environmental management, cultural interpretation, and community engagement.
