Technical Committees

Technical Committees are established for the duration of Training Product Development projects, and include individuals who are subject matter experts, educational experts, state and territory representatives with relevant expertise and Registered Training Organisations (RTOs). 

The Technical Committee will draw on their expertise to advise SaCSA on: 

• the purpose of a qualification and the application of the principles 

• training product design, delivery and assessment 

• Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) requirements and qualification levels 

• impacts on learners 

• implementation considerations 

• additional stakeholders who should be consulted during the project

Technical Committee members are selected based on their expertise, experience and ability to contribute to the development of nationally recognised training products. 

Applicants may include: 

• subject matter experts with current industry knowledge and experience 

• education and training specialists 

• state and territory representatives with relevant expertise 

• representatives from Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 

Appointments are made through a structured, competitive and merit-based selection process to ensure Technical Committees include individuals with the skills, knowledge and experience required for each project. 

The selection process includes: 

• assessment of applications against project specific selection criteria 

• shortlisting of suitable applicants 

• a structured, SaCSA-led, panel interview 

• reference checks 

Technical Committee members are expected to: 

• actively participate in meetings and discussions 

• review meeting papers and other materials before meetings 

• contribute their expertise in an objective and constructive manner 

• declare and manage any actual, potential or perceived conflicts of interest 

• maintain the confidentiality of information provided 

• comply with the Technical Committee Terms of Reference and relevant SaCSA policies and procedures
