Project overview

Assistant dance teachers play a vital role in nurturing the next generation of dancers and performers. This qualification review is designed to ensure they are equipped not only with strong dance knowledge, but also with the skills and understanding needed to work safely and effectively with children and young people in supervised environments.

This project will review five key units of competency to ensure the qualification remains relevant and appropriate. The review will ensure that the qualification equips learners with the skills and knowledge to fulfil their roles in a way the supports their safety and the safety of the children being taught.

This project will:

Develop stronger practical foundations aligned with industry expectations

Create greater synergy between learners, educators and employers

Enhance career pathways and support for lifelong learning
