VET Workforce Project
Strengthening the capacity, capability and sustainability of the VET workforce across the Arts, Personal Services, Retail, Tourism and Hospitality industries.
Project Overview
The VET Workforce Project is part of SaCSA’s commitment to ensuring Australia has a strong, adaptable and future-ready vocational education and training (VET) system. By working closely with industry, unions, training providers and government, SaCSA is identifying the key challenges facing trainers, assessors and RTOs, and developing practical, sector-led solutions.
The project is aligned with the national VET Workforce Blueprint, which outlines strategies to support, attract and retain skilled trainers and assessors. Ultimately, we aim to empower trainers and assessors with the skills, support and recognition they need to deliver training that is relevant, high-quality and fit for the future.
The work will be delivered in three phases:
- Stream 1 will conduct VET workforce studies to build a detailed understanding of industry-specific roles.
- Stream 2 will examine industry-specific VET workforce challenges and identify industry-led responses.
- Stream 3 will explore and support VET workforce pathways and pipelines, identifying industry-led actions.
Through research, consultation and pilot initiatives, SaCSA is:
