Project Overview
The floristry industry has transformed significantly in recent years. Traditional bricks and mortar stores continue to play a key role, but new business models including online floristry, freelancing, and event-based services are reshaping the sector. Meanwhile, trends such as digital retailing, environmental sustainability, product diversification, and new distribution methods are creating demand for a broader, more contemporary skill set.
To meet the evolving needs of the floristry industry and enhance skills development in traditional floristry methods, we are reviewing and updating the SFL30115 Certificate III in Floristry qualification.
Employment in floristry is projected to grow steadily over the next decade, and the market for online and traditional flower retailing is strong. Feedback from employers, educators, and industry bodies confirms strong support for changes that reflect the realities of the sector. Updating the qualification now will help ensure that graduates are competitive, confident and prepared for the future of the floristry industry.
